Getting from Sharm el-Sheikh airport to Dahab

26 October 2026 · by Ahmed Shark

Most visitors to Dahab fly into Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport (SSH). Here is what the drive looks like and how to make it easy.

How far is it?

About 90 km, usually around an hour and a quarter by car. The road runs through the mountains, and the views are beautiful, especially at sunset.

Checkpoints

There are police checkpoints on the way. They're routine, but you must have your passport with you, not in your checked bag. Your driver will do the talking.

Your options

  • Private pickup (our recommendation): a driver waits at arrivals with your name, helps with your bags and takes you straight to your door. Fixed price, agreed before you fly.
  • Taxi at the airport: possible, but prices vary and you'll have to negotiate after a long flight.
  • Bus: cheap but slow, with fixed times that rarely match flights.

What happens if my flight is late?

Tell us your flight number when you book. We follow the flight and adjust, so your driver is there when you land.

Booking

You can book on our Transport page: choose Sharm airport to Dahab, pick your date and time, and add your flight number. You'll see the fixed price before you send the request.

We also drive to Nuweiba, Taba, St Catherine and Cairo.

Want to see it for yourself?
